Here are the questions we asked from Chetan to know about his interview experience.
Question 1: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round and type of test platform ( If online mention the type of test platform eg. Hackereart, CoCubes, Amcat etc).
Answer: A subjective written test was conducted comprising about 15 questions with different marks weightage. The major topics covered were STA, FSMs, Counter, Opamp, rlc circuits, cmos(excluding fabrication part), K-maps. The test was of 90 mins duration.
Question 2: Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.
Answer: A single technical round was there. They went through my resume twice and asked me about my projects especially about the summer internship and the final year project(Capstone). Some topics were picked from the project itself as for eg my summer internship project included GSM module because of which they started asking me questions on TDMA, FDMA etc.
Question 3: Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.
Answer: A single HR round was there. I was told about the company and why NXP would be the best choice for me.
Question 4: What do you think were key factors for your selection?
Answer: The key to crack the interview easily is to get good marks in the written test. Believe me that works. So make sure you score well in the written test and for that make sure you have good practice for the above mentioned topics. There is step marking in the test so make sure you try to attempt each and every question.
Question 5: What would you like to advise juniors for technical skills they should develop for this company?
Answer: Get a feel of all subjects of ece. Digital should be best. Miss nothing. Complete a whole book of digital a-z. Apart from that questions from circuit theory, opamp and cmos will be there that will check your logical knowledge at the root level. OPAMPs + CMOS, know the basics and you should be able to handle just fine. No need of very detailed analysis. You need to know that the interviewer is interested in system/logic level details and not gate level details. Apart from that you should be clear about basic circuit configurations for eg like why a capacitor is used where and why must be clear.
Question 6: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?
Answer: HR for NXP is generally a formality round. There is a high probability that if you have reached the HR round then you have cleared the process. One basic question that was asked from everyone was that whether he/she would go for further studies or not?P.S dont say yes to it.
