Kartik Gogia’s ZS Associates Interview Experience

“Kartik Gogia” who was placed at “ZS Associates” talks about his interview experience and some other tips to prepare for placement season.

Here are the questions we asked from  Kartik Gogia to know about his interview experience.

Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers.

Answer :I am kind of persons who believes that luck only comes from hard work. There is no other way around. Basically I am a average guy who loves to travel 🙂

Question 2: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round and type of test platform ( If online mention the type of test platform eg. Hackereart, CoCubes, Amcat etc).

Answer:Written test consisted of 4 sections-Verbal, Quantitative aptitude, Data Interpretation and Technical. Time given to solve all sections was 90minutes. Data interpretation and Technical both were very easy and scoring. Quant and verbal was a bit tough. After this round 260 students were shortlisted from all 3 profiles for the Video Interview.In this round you will be given questions and and you have to respond to them. Only our voice will be recorded. There will be no panel sitting on other side. It was also very easy. As my profile was Technology Analyst, so there were some technical questions also like difference between Checked and unchecked exceptions.Other questions were from DBMS. There were also some team management related questions. After this round 98 students were shortlisted for further interviews.

Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any).

Answer.There was a Case study round in which we were given a case to solve. For TA profile case was based on DBMS. We were asked to write Sql queries or the algorithm which you used.CASE STUDY ROUND WAS TOUGH. Write only logical answers which you can explain to the panel. We were given 35 minutes to solve the case. After that there was a F2F interview round in which the panel discussed the whole case. They were asking about the logic behind my answers. Also in this interview he asked me one guess estimate (How many traffic lights are there in patiala), puzzles, and some logical questions.

After this round 65-70 students were eliminated. Then there was another round in which he gave me more puzzles, my project discussion, and questions on DBMS(joins and group by queries).

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.

Answer: did’nt have an HR round. Some HR questions were asked in my second round only like Why ZS, Tell me something about ZS etc.

Question 5: What do you think were key factors for your selection?

Question 6: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking Technical round of this company?

Answer:Brush up your DBMS skills. Practice puzzles as many you can. They also asked some people about Dynamic Programming. So be ready for coding questions also.

Question 7: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?

Answer:Have a smiling face , be confident and practice common HR questions like why ZS , where you see yourself after 5 years etc. Practice for interviews. The main thing we do is we take interviews lighly. Your behaviour and how do you speak also matters.
