Here are the questions we asked from Thakur Singla to know about his interview experience.

Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers

Answer: I am an average guy with penchant for reading and watching movies (sometimes anime’s as well).

Question 2: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round and type of test platform ( If online mention the type of test platform eg. Hackereart, CoCubes, Amcat etc).

Answer:Written test was taken by HirePro. It had 60 questions divided over 4 sections, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Verbal and Attention to detail. Questions are not very difficult therefore accuracy along with a high speed of solving is required but important thing to keep in mind was that it had sectional cutoff. There was no negative marking. After written test ~200 students were shortlisted and there was a video interview round. There were 8 questions for which we had to record answers and 3 subjective questions were to be answered. From this they shortlisted 98 people for case study/HR round.

Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any).

Answer:There was one case study interview. Each shortlisted candidate was given a case study to solve in 30 minutes. The case study was mixture of subjective and analytical questions. After 30 minutes each candidate was called for individual discussion of the case study. Don’t worry if you get questions wrong as they are looking at your approach. It will be a guided interview. They will try to understand how you did you reach your conclusion.

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.

Answer: There were 2 rounds of HR interviews. It mostly consisted of general situation based behavioural questions like “Tell me about a time when you stopped something immoral from happening.” Also some basic HR questions like ” Why Operations?” “Tell me about yourself” etc. But something fortunate happened in my case which I believe helped a lot in my selection i.e. questions on my internship. I did a 6 months internship at Procter & Gamble and from the very first question I started highlighting my internship. Afterwards nearly 70% questions of my interview were directly based on my internship. Other than these there were few puzzles and guesstimates.

Question 5: What do you think were key factors for your selection?

Answer: Confidence, Good communication skills, excellent internship

Question 6: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?

Answer: Practice puzzles as much as you can(there are lots of websites). Go through few guesstimates. Be through with your resume and go through company’s website once to understand what are their values and try to frame your answers accordingly. Last but very important – Be yourself and try to enjoy the process because remember they are here to hire you not reject you, company is wasting a lot of money by sending their managers here and they believe Thapar students have capability that’s why they are here.
