Here are the questions we asked from Adarsh Anand to know about his interview experience.

Question 1:Introduce yourself to the readers.

Answer: Hi! I am Adarsh, ENC undergrad from 2017-21 batch. I can describe myself in 3 words – Ambitious, Adventurous & Helpful.

Question 2:Describe your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round and type of test platform ( If online mention the type of test platform eg. Hackereart, CoCubes, Amcat etc).

Answer: Online test was conducted on Hirepro with camera and mic proctoring. There was a total of 2 online rounds. One was aptitude and coding test and another was a personality test. Aptitude and coding round was an elimination round of 100 min. There were around 46 MCQ’s on aptitude and some technical concepts. And there were 2 coding questions with 2 SQL commands. The personality test was not an elimination round.

Question 3:Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any)(please share coding questions if possible).

Answer: There was only one technical round but it took around 2 hrs. Initially, they asked me to introduce myself where I mentioned one of my key projects that took them to my resume. They asked me about two of my projects, whether they were done in a team or not, what is its real-life implementation, what problems did you face, etc. Then they started from very basic Linux commands to advance ones. Then they went on SQL. Started from the creation of the table, normalization, the concept of keys in detail and then some SQL commands. Then we had a detailed discussion on OOPS. After this, they gave me one coding question to find whether 2 strings are anagrams or not. I had to write everything that I spoke on codepad while I was sharing my screen. Custom test cases were checked too. In the end, they asked me 2 puzzles. One was and the other was

Question 4:Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.

Answer: After the technical round, I was called for HR interview. It merely went on for 10 min. He asked me about my strengths, weakness, family background, why should we hire you and what do you expect from us.

Question 5:Key factors for your selection.

Answer: I was able to answer all the basic questions and wherever I was stuck I tried to communicate with them. They automatically gave me hints and sometimes it was like the interviewer and I discussed for some question and then we came to a conclusion. I guess communicating with them, and giving honest answer were some key factors for my selection

Question 6:What are the things students should focus on in order of priority?

Answer: Basics. Students should have their fundamentals strong. Interviewers can ask from any subject but if you have your basic strong in that subject you can try to find answers to their toughest questions. Firstly get some hands-on with coding. Data structures and Algorithms, then DBMS then go for operating systems and then computer networks. Interviews expect you to have some basic knowledge about Linux commands too.

Question 7:Advice to juniors for technical skills they should develop.

Answer: Do have some good projects in your resume. Try not to have standard projects which either everyone has made or is taken from some very popular course. I would advise first and second-year students to explore their interest. Instead of only coding, do explore other technical areas too like machine learning, cloud, AR and VR, cybersecurity, etc. Because only by doing DSA, you will not explore your interest and will not come up with some innovative projects. Whenever you choose some project do think about its real-life implementation.

Question 8:According to you, what role does extra curricular activities as well as participation in societies play?

Answer: Extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play an important role because it teaches you how to work effectively in a team and think critically. Also, it helps in some HR rounds specially in a company like stryker who takes a gallup assessment asking you to give some real-life examples of a particular situation and how did you tackle that. These situations are generally faced in a society.

Question 9:What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?

Answer: Just try to be honest and be well prepared about the company. Try to gather some information about the company regarding its goals and vision.
