Question 2:According to you, what role does extra curricular activities as well as participation in societies play?
Answer: Extra curricular activities definitely help you in building confidence and long run relationships. Also in certain cases you get to learn professionalism and handling multiple things all at a time. But make sure it really doesn’t affect your studies and try to get out of it once you feel, you ain’t learning any skill out of it. So maintaining a balance between studies and societies is really important.
Question 3:Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round and type of test platform ( If online mention the type of test platform eg. Hackereart, CoCubes, Amcat etc).
Answer: Written test was conducted on Amdocs own platform which comprised of 51 questions. Out of which 50 were MCQ based questions (consisted questions on DBMS, Data Structures, Unix commands, Aptitude and English) and 51st was a coding question (some really popular linked list question). After solving 80% of MCQs, I was left with 45 mins to solve coding question, hence sufficient amount of time was provided to solve the test.
Question 4:Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any).
Answer: There was 1 technical round (45 mins approx) which varied from slot to slot. In my slot a group of students were firstly given 2 codes to write using pen and paper. Once we were done with it, we were called one by one for the interview in which firstly discussion regarding the code was done, then I was asked about some concepts regarding exception handling, memory management, OOPs concepts like virtual inheritance. After that I was asked about projects and why and how I managed to prepare for IT field despite being from ECE branch.
Interviewer ended the conversation by asking if I had any questions for him. In which we just talked about skills which actually matter once we enter corporate world. After few mins I got to know that I made it to HR round.

Answer: For technical Interviews, HR round is kind of a formality. There was 1 HR (10 mins approx) round in which I was asked some typical questions like Tell me about yourself, Why Amdocs?, your strengths, Any issues with relocation and what are my future plans.
Question 6:What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?

Question 7:Any Other Advice you would like to give to your juniors?
Answer: Firstly, explore every field and by the end of 2nd year make sure what you really want to pursue as your career and drive accordingly.
Secondly, if you’re from non CS branch,
– Be very thorough with DBMS, OS, UNIX commands along with coding in any one language. I prefer an online or offline course with Coding Ninjas for coding.
– Have 2 or 3 projects done by you which are worth mentioning in resume and explanation during an interview.
– Have a minimum CGPA of 7.5 to be eligible for atleast 80% companies.
– Lastly, do not hype about placements, it’s like any other event in life. All what matters is your clearity and perseverance towards the goal. Try to learn from every failure you experience and keep moving.
