Cgpa Cutoff: There was no specific cgpa cut-off. There were some internal cut-offs according to the departments.
Interview Difficulty Level: It was around 7. (1-very easy, 10-very difficult)
Here are the questions we asked Aryaman Kumar to know about his interview experience.
Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers.
Answer: My name is Aryaman Kumar. I am a final year student of TIET and my branch is Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). I got an internship offer at Wells Fargo.
Question 2: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round, and type of test platform (online – amcat, hackerearth, etc / offline)
Answer: The written test was of 70 mins. It was of 70 minutes. There were 3 sections. The first one was the quantitative section. The second one was the case study section and the third one was pure finance. They asked questions based on the basics of financial concepts. The platform of the test was SHL.
Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round (if any) (please share coding questions if possible)
Answer: There was 1 technical round related to finance.
Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round
Answer: There was 1 HR round in which basic HR questions were asked like why do you want to join the company and so on.
Question 5: What were the key factors for your selection?
Answer: In the test, there was no negative marking so I attempted as many questions as possible. I had read basic of financial concepts throughout my college years.
Question 6: What are the things students should focus on in order of priority?
Answer: Maintain a good CGPA.(8.5+ is safe CGPA). A resume is important for such kinds of jobs. Do not mention your technical knowledge in non-tech jobs. You should know your projects thoroughly and focus on your GK. Read economic news daily.
Question 7: According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?
Answer: In IB jobs such activities are not that important. For finance roles, extracurricular activities do not play a very important role so part in 1 or 2 societies will work.
Question 8: Any Other Advice you would like to give to your juniors?
Answer: Spend your time learning the basics of finance.
Your people and communication skills are very important for such kind of job.
Know your resume inside out. Do not bluff on your resume.
