“Avi Kalra” who was placed at “Shell IT Centre” talks about his interview experience and some other tips to prepare for placement season.

Here are the questions we asked from  Avi Kalra to know about his interview experience.

Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers.

Answer: I am a student of Computer Engineering 2018 batch. I am from Rajpura, Punjab. What computer Engineering taught me in the 4 years is how to think things from the perspective of a computer i.e thinking about logic and developing analytic skills. So I would say that I have an analytic mindset.

Question 2: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round and type of test platform ( If online mention the type of test platform eg. Hackereart, CoCubes, Amcat etc).

Answer: The written test was conducted on AMCAT platform and consisted of aptitude questions and technical MCQs. The aptitude part consisted of 25 questions from basic quant and LR. For these questions, you can refer to hitsbullseye or indiabix and solve each of the topics to have a firm grip on them. The technical MCQs were from SQL, OS, OOPS each of which is part of the computers courses.

Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any).

Answer: There was 1 technical round which comprised of mostly basics of all the courses of computers. Questions were like most efficient search in an array, circular linked list. Difference between delete drop truncate. SDLC and agile was asked.

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.

Answer: 1 round comprising of competency based questions. Questions asked were situation based on how would you handle multiple projects at a time or how do you deal with pressure.

Question 5: What do you think were key factors for your selection?

Question 6: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking Technical round of this company?

Answer: For IT aspirants, practice DATA STRUCTURES in depth from geeks4geeks and have good knowledge about core subjects. For nontech aspirants brush up on aptitude from indiaBix or hitbullseye.

Question 7: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?

Answer: Know about yourself. Be certain about your shortcomings and what you want to pursue in life. Don’t limit yourself to a small domain and keep yourself in touch with the organisations and their market position.
