Here are the questions we asked Birinder Singh to know about his interview experience.

Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers.

Answer: Hello Everyone! I’m currently in 4th Year pursuing Mechanical engineering. I recently got placed at Jubilant FoodWorks.

Question 2: Was there any internal CGPA cutoff? If yes, then how much ?

Answer: Not really, but on the safe side, keep above 7. For tech profile, above 8.

Question 3: What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria/ coding or aptitude test/ number of interviews)

Answer: There were three rounds in total. The first round was the Aptitude round, and after that was a GD round. Post that, there was an HR round.

Question 4: Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)

Answer: In the Aptitude test, pattern questions were asked from Maths and English questions. Around 30 students selected and the round was not so difficult. Master subjects like machine design, refrigeration and fluid mechanics for better results.

Question 5: Tell us about Interview Round 1 including the questions that were asked.

Answer: It was a GD round and difficult one to top it. Around 13-14 students got selected. It was virtual round. Higher pitch of volume was appreciated. Topic given was ‘Electric vehicles in ADR’ and I was in favour against three people who were against. I would highly recommend you to be confident in what you have on your resume.

Question 6: Tell us about the HR interviews(if any) specifying the number of rounds and questions asked.

Answer: In HR round , the questions were asked about the projects I did on “Supply Chain” and questions on internship done in 6th semester were asked. Questions like- favorite subject and why did you choose this branch. Ask them relevant questions too.

Question 7: What were the key factors of your selection?

Answer: Key factors: being confidence and command over subjects. Internships matter too.

Question 8: What are the things students should focus on in order of priority?

Answer: CGPA above 7 and skills are very important.

Question 9: According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?

Answer:  Yes, I was a part of various events of MUDRA but not really a part of any society and I don’t think they play that much of a role.

Question 10: Were there any companies you got rejected from after appearing for their interview? If yes, then tell us about your rejection story and what do you think were the reasons for your rejection?

Answer: This was the first company for which I sat in interview and got selected.

Question 11: What message would you like to give to your juniors regarding the stress they go through during placement season?

Answer: Meditation and belief in yourself help you in a long way.

Question 12: Any other advice you would like to give to your juniors?

Answer: The advice would be to learn to Excel, SQL , Database etc which help you in long run.
