Answer: I would say, being a civil engineer you should know basics of drafting and designing softwares like Autocad and Staad pro. Moreover if possible you should go for site visits for better understanding of practical work

Answer: Online Round was conducted on Amcat and was divided broadly into two sections:

1. MCQ section: This section included-

  • English
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Business reasoning
  • Technical

2. Coding Section: There were two coding questions and they carried more marks than MCQ section. One question was simple, based on data structures(trees or linked list) while other was of moderate level.

Question 3:Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any)(please share coding questions if possible)

Answer: I had just one technical round. It was a skype interview and lasted for around 1 hour and 15 minutes. The interviewer started with describe yourself and after asking me about my internship project, he moved to technical questions. I can categorize the questions in following manner:

  • Basics of C,C++
  • OOPS concepts
  • Core JAVA and some advanced concepts like servlets,JSP
  • SQL queries and JDBC(Code)
  • Sorting Algorithms and their comparison
  • Data structures (mainly trees)
  • Agile and design patterns
  • New technologies(i told about ML and blockchain)

The interviewer didn’t make me write whole code but asked for approach or just the algorithm for certain coding questions based on trees and arrays.

Answer: There was only one HR round and it covered following questions:

  • Describe yourself.
  • Do u have an idea about company like company’s services and work?
  • What are your hobbies and interests?
  • Do u have any study plans in future?
  • Where do u see yourself after five years?
  • Are u ready to relocate ?

Question 5: Key factors for your selection

Answer: I believe following were my key factors for my selection:

  • Coding skills
  • Technical knowledge
  • Some knowledge about upcoming technologies like Machine Learning and blockchain.

Question 6: Advice to juniors for technical skills they should develop

Answer: I would suggest the following:

  • Practice questions on data structures(can follow geeksforgeeks)
  • Should have deep knowledge of OOPS and database concepts.
  • Improvise problem solving through competitive programming on online platforms like codechef ,HackerRank and HackerEarth, codeforces etc.
  • Be able to explain approach properly and with confidence.

Answer: I am Shraddha Gupta, final year student of ECE in NIT Jalandhar. I am a coding lover who loves to solve the problem in most creative way.

Question 2:Describe Your written test experience specifying number of rounds ,details of each round and type of test platform(online -amcat,hackerearth etc offline)

Answer: There were two written tests in the selection process of the company. First was the online coding round hosted on the Cocubes. It had 3 coding questions on topics like array, string manipulation, linked list, trees etc which were of moderate difficulty level. Second round was a pen and paper based coding round in which we had to solve slightly more difficult coding problem. It checked our algorithmic approach, thinking ability and giving logically working code.

Question 3:Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any)(please share coding questions if possible)

Answer: 2 rounds constituted the technical interviews.

Round 1 (Technical Interview) – Interviewer asked me to write code for a simple problem and test it for all corner cases, there were questions about the OOPS concept, operating system and DBMS. Most of the students were given a system design problem and we were expected to provide the solution with flow charts, specifications, and brief idea about the implementation.

Round 2 (Technical Interview) – In this round interviewer mainly asked me the details about all my projects, and the skills which I had put on my resume. They expected an in depth knowledge about all the projects we had worked on.

Question 4:Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round

Answer: Round 3 was HR interview. The interviewer discussed all the points written on my resume and I was asked about my strengths, weaknesses, knowledge about products of Microsoft, reason about being so passionate about Microsoft. He also asked me whether I was working on any of the new Technologies like ML, AI or Big data.

Question 5: Key factors for your selection

Answer: One of the important factors for the selection in any IT company is the projects and internships that you have done in your 3 years of Engineering. I think my projects, internship and knowledge of the latest trends in the IT industry led to my selection in the company.

Question 6: Advice to juniors for technical skills they should develop

Answer: I would suggest to be proficient in coding and have a deep knowledge about Data structure, Operating system, Database Management System, OOPS etc. Be updated about the latest trends and new technologies in IT industry like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data it would surely give you an edge over the other candidates.

Answer: In HR round your confidence, enthusiasm, approach to problem solving, ability to work as a team, articulation of ideas etc. are looked at with a critical eye. So be confident and have a thorough knowledge about everything you have put up in your resume.

Answer: In my case there was only one interview and HR and the technical head were both present in the panel and HR asked a few basic questions about myself and my family in the beginning of interview followed by the technical question asked by the technical head.

Answer: If you are from chemical engineering discipline and seeking for a job in core sector than it is necessary to have the basic knowledge of all the subjects, equipment and processes involved.

Answer: My interview was more about technical knowledge so i may not be able to tell the tested ways but as far as i think you just tell them whatever they ask honestly

Answer: I am Ankita Garg, currently pursuing my final year in B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Jalandhar. I am fond of reading, writing, singing and I love to travel.

Answer: There were 2 rounds that constituted written test- Round 1(75 minutes)- It was online coding round conducted on Cocubes platform. There were different sets of questions and every set had three questions. The questions I got were based on trees, arrays and dynamic programming. Round 2(Group fly-30 minutes)-This round was pen and paper round.All students were given a question and we were to write the algorithm as well as code on paper.Question was to print all the subsets of an array with given sum.

Question 3:Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any)(please share coding questions if possible)

Answer: 2 rounds constituted the technical interviews.

Round 3(Technical Interview) – An in-depth discussion took place about the project I did during my internship. Then, he gave a couple of coding questions based on linked lists(to check if the linked list is circular or has a loop) and trees. I was supposed to discuss the approach and write the code for it. Then he asked me to develop test cases for the questions where the solution might fail. Then, we had a discussion on the concepts of object oriented programming and how they can be implemented in real life.

Round 4(Technical Interview) – Again, my internship project was discussed at length. Then the round shifted to System Design- I was asked to design a movie-booking site and explain every bit of it. Then he gave me a coding question based on dynamic programming. Then he asked me to develop test cases for the question where the solution might fail and that how does my code handle it. Then he asked me some concepts related to Operating Systems and Computer Networks.

Answer: Round 5(HR+ Technical round) : -Tell me about yourself – Discussion about projects -Strengths and weaknesses -What new things did you learn during your internship -Why do you code -If not for CSE, which branch you would have opted for and why -What do you know about Microsoft etc.

Answer 1: A guy with average intelligence, doing mechanical engineering(Class of 2018) from NIT-J.

Answer: The written test consisted of 1 round of aptitude questions consisting of various sections like logical ability, English, aptitude, technical segments. There were around 30 questions in each section.

Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round (if any).

Answer: There was one round of technical interview. My interview went for 1 hour. I was asked the questions related to engineering drawing subject. I was asked to draw several drawings and then basic questions regarding my internship were asked to me. The interviewer was not only testing my knowledge but was also observing me how confident I am even if I don’t know the answer. I tried to be real and didn’t hide anything from the interviewer. I told him frankly that my internship wasnt too experience giving or knowledge giving.

ADVICE: I will advise u all that dont even try to lie during ur interviewer because it is 100 percent sure that u will get trapped in his questions and then if he get to know that u lied u are straightaway out from the process. Just focus on enginering drawing subject and its basics.

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.

Answer: After qualifying technical interview I had one HR round too. In this round very basic questions were asked like:

  • why did I want to join their company?
  • what are my future plans?
  • whether I will go for MBA or not.

Just try to answer them and make them realize that u respect their company and u would love to work with them and even if u want to do MBA make sure that u make them realize that u will do MBA with ur job under Bosch. They will surely make provisions for you for that.

Answer: My confidence and my little knowledge(i wasn’t able to answer their all questions)

Question 6: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking Technical round of this company?

Answer: I would like to advise the following:

  • Focus on basics of engineering drawing subject for the post of design profile in Bosch.
  • Mention only those things about ur internship which u know well.

Answer: Just be confident and answer their questions truly with some manipulations to make them think that it is the only company which u want to join.

My Strengths are: Good communication skills. Always keen to learn new things and meet new people with ease and Hardworking. I am a passionate person who does his work with great perfection. I have been appreciated for my leadership qualities.

Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any).

Answer: There are 3 rounds after selection in written test i.e Group Discussion, Technical Interview and HR Interview. All rounds are eliminating rounds.

  • In Group discussion general topics are there like in my GD topic given was- Punjab-The story of unrealised potential. In this interviewer just want to check your expressive tendency i.e you can express your ideas in a team or not. GD was mass elimination round (only 7 student got selected out of 21 student).
  • After GD 1st round of interview was technical based but the profile offered to us is Technical Marketing so technical portion was not that much.
    • 1st round of interview was Situational Interview in which interviewer gave me a marketing situation and asked me for the solution, situation given to me was- Sweet Biscuits are there on the table and interviewer said me that he was suffering from Diabetes and he is 54 years old, from 20 years he didn’t eat sweet biscuits and he don’t even like its smell. He asked me to sell this sweet biscuits to him. So for this interview you can’t follow any fixed algorithm to get success. Its up to your knowledge, confidence and convincing power to get success in this round.
    • 2nd round was HR round described in next question.

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.

Answer: In HR round they want to check your business acumen and knowledge about market trends. In my case interviewer asked me about general marketing and business terms like –

  • what is the cost of capital ?
  • Difference between Revenue and Sale ?
  • Difference between Marketing and Sale ?
  • Oil cut ?
  • Stock Price ?
  • Depreciation ?
  • Assets and Liabilities ?
  • Causes of instability in Oil Market ?
  • EBIDTA ?

Means with technical knowledge of petroleum industries you must have business knowledge also to get success in this.

Answer: Factors according to me are –

First 3 qualities are most important factor Reliance needs for this profile.

Answer: According to Me Just prepare the concepts of Chemical Engineering throughout. Have basic polymer knowledge i.e History of plastics,brief refining process,polymer classification,applications of polymer. Prepare about Competitors of RIL. All downstream process in details. In this interview stay positive, work hard and have patience.

Question 7: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?

Answer: According to me to get success in this you must be Confident and have good Communication skills. Having knowledge is a good thing but how you can express that knowledge is most important thing, So be Expressive in this. Stay motivated and be Disciplined throughout the Interview. Show interviewer that you are best for the role i.e never give up attitude. So my advice is to work hard in brushing your skills and learning. You all will get whatever is best for you. So have positive Nature and Patience.

Answer 1: I m a final year student in NIT-J presently and I am proficient in DOT NET.

Answer: After the written round there was GD round in which the topics were quite generic. For example, the topics were, “Electric Cars”, “Start-ups – How it can help in growth of GDP ?”, “Digital Currency – How feasible it is ?” After the GD round there was direct interview. There was only one general interview including technical and HR. Generally an average interview lasted for about 8-10 minutes. The technical questions were strictly to your resume. I was asked about the basics of Controllers like PID, transmission lines and a few about PLC and SCADA.

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round.

Answer: As explained in previous question, there was only one general Interview round consisting of both technical and HR questions.

Question 5: What do you think were key factors for your selection?

Answer: 1. First and foremost, Confidence. 2. Basic technical knowledge, at least what you’ve written in your resume. 3. Good communication skills.

Question 6: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking Technical round of this company?

Answer: Go through your resume and learn at least the basics of what all you’ve written in it. Apart from that develop a habit of explaining what you know concisely. Be to the point and drag the discussion as per your comfort. Choose those technical words which you know about. Keep yourself calm and confident.

Question 7: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?

Answer: Develop good communication skills. Be fluent in your approach. Don’t use fancy words, instead use simple english. Make eye contact while you’re expressing yourself. Be patient and confident.

Answer: We had one personal Interview round which was as follows:

  • The 4th round was the Personal Interview. (mine was the first one) We candidates were told to bring our own laptops as we have to show and run our projects (any one) that you have written in your resume.The project must be running. Apart from this I was asked certain questions of DBMS (like joins) an SQL query , a programming question -> to remove duplicate characters in a string and -> to reverse a string(I have to write code for both the questions) Then he asked about my Internship project. The interviewer was friendly
  • Advice: Be yourself. Don’t try to impress him by giving him big projects or a new technology(a simple but running project will do) And the question will not be too tough.

Answer: There was 1 HR round (7 students made it to this round) I was the first candidate.

  • The HR interviewer was a tricky guy. He started by asking sample HR questions like everyone asks. Then he asked about my hobby and then he started rapid fire questions about my hobbies like why this and why not playing games like every one else.
  • Advice: Don’t lie. Even if your hobby is to just watch movies tell him frankly.

Question 5: What do you think were key factors for your selection?

Answer: Honesty Smiling while giving answers. A little command over English language

Question 6: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking Technical round of this company?

Answer: Don’t Lie. Smile and be gentle while giving answers. Don’t use Hindi while giving answers. Practice JAVA and C++ o/p.

Question 7: What would you like to advise juniors for cracking HR round of this company?

Answer: The interviewer will try to make you feel angry. Just chill smile and answer A little command over the English language. Show eagerness for joining the company.
