Answer: I am Ritish Mahajan and I am down to earth person passionate about learning new technology and accepting challenges…moreover I have a good interest in the field of mechanical engineering.

Answer: There was an aptitude test on the AMCAT platform which is mostly used for testing and practicing aptitude, logical reasoning, and verbal reasoning questions.
Talking about the aptitude section it mostly consists of Mathematics, Time & work-related questions.
verbal ability section is like English subject …consisting comprehensions and all.
The logical Reasoning section is based on logic-based questions mostly from practical life.

Answer: Basically selection is based on 3 Rounds :
1. Resume Selection
2. Aptitude Test
3. Interview Round

Answer: There is only one Interview Round.

Question 5: What were the key factors for your selection?

Answer: A Good Resume, Confidence, basic knowledge of your subjects.

Question 6: What are the things students should focus on in order of priority?

Answer: Be honest, be stick to your statements don’t switch, be keen to learn, and last but not least a good resume.

Question 7: According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?

Answer: First of all, it helps to build a good network with seniors, juniors, and other fellow companions, it enhances your communication skills which gives you confidence while facing an interview, not only in placements but in other fields too,it also makes college life more enjoyable.

Answer: Amcat. An easy one.It contained aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal reasoning. There were two groups from Deloitte: Deloitte India and Deloitte USI. Those under Deloitte India had a GD and those under Deloitte USI had jam ( in this you are given a topic and you have to speak on it). I was Deloitte USI. The topic given to me was ‘ Artificial intelligence over human intelligence’. We were given 30s to think about the topic and then had to speak for 1 minute.

Answer: There was only one interview in which a C++ program of Fibonacci series, some puzzles were asked. Also I was asked to explain one of my projects.

Answer: Just be confident. If you are thinking of a future in consulting firms then technical skills are not that important.

They also asked about the programming languages I knew, but no questions from it. That’s it.

Answer: My jam session went well. About the interview, it was too short to make conclusions.

Answer: If you improve your basic programming skills, that can be an added advantage.

1st level was an online test which comprised of aptitude, verbal reasoning, logical reasoning and data interpretation.

Answer: Delloitte did not have any technical rounds, 1st round was an online test as described above, 2nd round was a jam session for business profiles and GD ( case study based) for technical profiles.
Right after that, I had my final interview for the company.

Answer: My final interview round was an HR interview round.
Various questions like –
1. Introduce yourself
2. Your projects? What did you do in Thapar?
3. Question about summer training
4. Do you have any questions for me?

Answer: Observation, presence of mind, confidence and thinking out of box.

Question 6:Advice to juniors for technical skills they should develop

Answer: Just a simple advice, be good at whatever you do/ write in your resume. Should not be like you knew c++ and now you’ve forgotten due to a 6 months gap.
Make sure, you’ll be asked questions on the basis of what you have written in your resume.

Answer: Be honest, be yourself, be truthful and do not try to jump to conclusions.
Always ask ” Sir can I have two minutes to gather my thoughts? ” when a question like where do you see yourself in the next 5 years is asked, ( incase you need 2 minutes).

Answer: Hi, I am a hardworking person who bealieve in dreams and making them true. Both academics and society culture of thapar had been a unseperable part of my life span in thapar.

Answer: It was a quanti + verbal + reasoning test consisting of 3 rounds of 25+25+35mins with 25+25+20 ques respectively. Level of round was neither too tought nor too easy, there were long passages but time was not a challenge.
You need to have good mathematics and reasoning skills.

Answer: After online test there was a JAM for BTA USI. You have the advantage of choosing second topic if you don’t like the first one. You have 30 sec to think and 1 min to speak. Then there were few counter ques on your speech (allowed in few rooms). Topics of JAM for me was “tech company that influenced your life”. I talked about my 2 months internship at SANDISK (WDC). Other topics were like data is the new fuel, can human replace robots. The key for JAM is to full out as many threads as you can on the topic given i.e. more aspects of the topic.

After JAM it was a 1-1 interview approx of 10-15mins (at 1am) totally based on resume. Starting from introduce yourself, to questions on capstone project and paper. The discussion of capstone went for 3mins and on paper for 1-2 mins. Then asked abt do u know coding? I am a non coder but i worked on assembly language and have hands in python at WDC. The same interview later continued with HR ques…

Answer: After technical in same interview they asked about task you accomplished and you are prowd of? (Counter ques included…it went for 5 mins for me to convince her that i have done the task myself)

Answer: Just know what you have done in your project. It’s your project you should be the master of it. They ask you ques based on the terms you use while explaining your project.
You don’t know coding its totally fine but do convince that you can work on algos.

Answer: Have a good extracurricular, and keep the interview in the directions you know. If you don’t know things say it simply and do tell the things you know.

I play basketball too, and I am a true sportsperson, pure with my beliefs on discipline and teamwork. In my part time, I like to paint.

Answer: There was one aptitude test. It had three parts. Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Analytical Aptitude. It was not that difficult. It was an AMCAT based test. Mere practise is appropriate to ace the test, and time provided for the test was sufficient.

Answer: No technical interviews

Answer: There was one JAM session. My topic was ‘Use of Analytics on a daily basis’. About 200 people had qualified after the test, leaving only 100 after JAM session.
The next round was a personal interview where I was asked about myself, and a lot of focus was around the extra circulars and basketball. I was asked why i wanted to join Deloitte after opting for Engineering background. I was also asked about my internships.

Answer: Be honest and be yourself. Work hard on building your resume. Learn about BTA, research what that job requires you to do and project yourself as most appropriate for the job in the interview. It is you, who decides how to shape an interview and plan and research it well.
