Profile offered: I’ll be working as a Graduate Analyst, which will serve the purpose of SDE and building up the algorithms that will run throughout the domain they are performing.

Job Location: Job location is not yet known. It will be either Pune or Chennai.

Branch and Graduation Year: COE – 2022

Cgpa Cutoff: 6.5

Interview Difficulty Level: I would rate it 3 or 4 out of ten. (1-very easy, 10-very difficult)

Here are the questions we asked Harsh Das to know about his interview experience.

Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers.

Answer: Hello, I’m Harsh Das. I’m in the final year of my bachelor’s degree in Thapar, and I’m currently pursuing Computer Engineering. I have got an internship offer from INDMoney, and a placement offer from Barclays.

Question 2: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round, and type of test platform (online – amcat, hackerearth, etc / offline)

Answer: First of all, there was a HackerRank test consisting of MCQ questions on data structures, OS, DBMS, Computer Networking, and some aptitude-based questions. Also, there were 1-2 coding questions.

Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round (if any) (please share coding questions if possible)

Answer: There was only one interview which consisted of technical and HR round. The interview started with my introduction; I explained my tech stack and fields of interest to her. Then she asked me to write a program to find the radius from the equation of a given circle. In the end, she asked me some HR questions like difficulties I faced while working in any organization.

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round

Question 5: What were the key factors for your selection?

Answer: The key factors will be :
It is very important to know the basic concepts of computer engineering. The only way to do this is to study data structures and algorithms, Operating systems, DBMS, and most importantly, OOPS.
Experience of the work-life is essential as well. Before jumping into data structures and algorithms, I started web development, which helped me develop myself and clear the interview.

Question 6: What are the things students should focus on in order of priority?

Answer: My suggestion to juniors will be that it would be perfect if you start working on your tech stack and exploring new fields by the end of your second year, and from your third year, start working on data structures. Initially, try solving questions on HackerRank. Focus on subjects like OS, OOPS, DBMS and CN.

Question 7: According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?

Answer: Extracurricular activities and participation in societies play a huge role in your personal and professional growth. It helps in your skill set development. Through societies, I got to know many seniors and the tech stack they follow. Working in societies is an experience in itself.

Question 8: Any Other Advice you would like to give to your juniors?

Answer: You should enjoy your college life and should not take that much burden, but at the same time, you need to prioritize your work and goals. Just keep working consistently in the field of your interest.
