You can test your code as many times you want through your manual test cases but you can only submit 5 times only. This round is of 3 hours. The coding question which came is to check whether a graph is Bipartite or not and print the number of nodes having same colour.
Note-: You can not use STL.
320 student sat for the online round out of which they shortlisted 44 for the interviews.
Question 3:Describe your all technical interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any)(please share coding questions if possible)
Answer: There are 2 rounds of technical interview.
Interviewer gave a little introduction of himself. Then, he directly gave a coding question( https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/segment-tree-set-1-sum-of-given-range/). Firstly, I gave the brute force approach. Then, Interviewer asked me to optimize it further. I know the optimized approach already. But, I pretend of thinking about the optimized approach and took some time. After that I told the optimized approach and wrote a code for that. Then, Interviewer told that if there are more updation queries in this and asked me to think for this problem. I know that this question is of segment tree ,but I did’nt told this to the interviewer because I don’t know Segment Tree implementation. I told the interviewer that if there are updation ,then we can use Balanced BST as search is O(log N). Then ,I wrote the code of tree.
Then,he gave the second coding question which is of rotation of a matrix by N times. Firstly, I gave the brute force approach. Then, I optimized it and wrote the code of it.
Then, interviewer asked me to discuss any one project of mine.
Then, he asked some operating system question like What is Paging?
What is Virtual Memory?
Also about internal and external fragmentation.
Then, he asked if there is any question for him. I asked some of the questions about Samsung. After that, He asked me to wait for the second technical interview.
Out of 44 people only 32 made to the Technical Round 2.
This time the interviewer was with the director of some vertical in Samsung R&D, Bangalore .Firstly, he asked me in which all companies you sat before and why you not made there. I told what all mistakes I did in interviews previously. Then, he asked little about Thapar Placements.
Then, he asked some OS questions like What is process synchronization and its need, about race around condition, different ways in which process can communicate with each other(https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/interprocess-communication-methods/), about Priority Inversion(https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/priority-inversion-what-the-heck/),
Then asked the difference between binary semaphore and mutex(https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/mutex-vs-semaphore/).
Then he asked me a dfs question, for which I firstly told the approach. Then he asked me to write the code. Then, he did some questioning based on the code which I wrote.
After which he asked, which data structure will you use to implement a problem in which there are M power stations and N number of houses. I told graph then,he asked why graph and why not linked list.I answered all his queries.
He asked me to wait for the HR Interview
TIPS-: Speak those things which know and don’t give the optimize approach initially even if you know it.
Question 4:Describe your all HR interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round
