The interviewer asked me questions from my resume like my extra-curricular activities, work done in societies, project work and other questions on database queries(like difference between primary key and foreign key), OOPs concept, case studies and guesstimates. I was asked mainly theoretical questions, whereas some of my friends were asked to code as well.

Question 6: What were the key factors of your selection?

Answer: Support from friends and seniors. I had a healthy circle of friends which kept me motivated, we used to share our preparation strategies, discussed problems etc. Moreover I had huge support from my seniors who guided me at every step of placement journey. At last it was my patience which kept me going.

Question 7: What are the things students should focus on, in order of priority?

Answer:I was preparing for GATE examination, it was hard to handle college studies along with this so I had to drop my preparation for GATE. Only 2-3 months were remaining for placement season, when I studied about non-tech roles, I realized that I can work better in this domain, so I chose to go with non-tech. Firstly, be clear which domain you want to choose. Prepare according to that, for non-tech interviews focus on case studies, guesstimates, puzzles. Secondly, focus on aptitude for exam point of view.

Question 7: According to you, what role do extracurricular activities, as well as participation in societies, play?

Answer:I believe they play a very important role as they enhance one’s communication skills, team building ability and leadership qualities. It also helps in boosting confidence and at the end people find no difficulty in filling their POR in resume. I was a part of Rotaract and Unsaid Talks, which helped me a lot in my personality development. Rotaract got me a lot of experience in team management as I was the project head. Unsaid talks got me to interact with many seniors, their guidance has contributed a lot in my selection.
