Here are the questions we asked Samiksha Arora to know about her interview experience.
Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers.
Answer: Hello, I am Samiksha Arora and I am a fourth-year Coe student and I am an intern at Apple.
Question 2: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round, and type of test platform (online – amcat, hackerearth, etc / offline)
Answer: There was no such written test but there was internal shortlisting by the company after the cgpa cutoff.
Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round (if any) (please share coding questions if possible)
Answer: Interview 1 – It was a purely technical round and the company was looking for people with clear basics. They asked very simple questions related to OOPS and related to coding too. They asked for very simple codes such as sorting an array and finding the highest number. Apple was looking for a person who could write quality code with better readability.
Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round
Answer: Interview 2 – It was the managerial round and they were asking questions related to projects.
One was my project was a hardware-based project but they were not interested in that project as the profile offered was software-based. They were basically looking for software-based projects. As I am a Cyber Security Enthusiast so they were asking if I could use Cyber Security in projects I made. I made 2 software-based projects that were the online voting system and the capstone project and I did cybersecurity-related stuff in that project.
So, in a nutshell, Apple was looking for someone who could use each and every subject’s knowledge in their projects. HR-related questions were also asked in this round and they were basically looking for confidence, speaking skills and were asking that why you want to join apple.
Question 5: What were the key factors for your selection?
Answer: Clear Basics such as OOPS and DSA.
Question 6: What are the things students should focus on in order of priority?
Answer: OOPS, DSA, code readability, speaking skills, and confidence.
Question 7: According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?
Answer: Extracurricular activities are important as they train you how to interact and gain confidence and how can we pursue someone. Societies play an important role in building your overall character and personality.
Question 8: Any Other Advice you would like to give to your juniors?
Answer: I would just like to suggest my juniors to be patient during placements. I know it’s a hectic process but being patient will help you see things clearly.
