Here are the questions we asked Shrey Wadhwa to know about his interview experience.

Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers.

Answer: I’m Shrey Wadhwa. I’m a 4th-year electronics and communication student at Thapar Institute. Apart from my interest in core electronics, I’m very much interested in watching crime thrillers, in novels, playing badminton, running and all such things. Circuit designing was something that was inherent to me since class 12th and I was really hoping to get into the core field for a very long time.

Question 2: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round, and type of test platform (online – amcat, hackerearth, etc / offline)

Answer: Actually, there was no written test as the company came very late on the campus and they just wanted students who were left for internship and who were interested in core profile. So, they directly took the interview.

Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round (if any) (please share coding questions if possible)

Answer: There was supposed to be only one round but they took two interviews of me. I was very much interested in digital but the profile offered to me was analog because digital is kinda easy and most of the people prefer digital only. So, I wasn’t aware that the interviewer is going to ask me questions from analog, so when I was facing them they told me that the profile they are offering is analog. They asked basics of analog like CMOS fundamentals and gave me some puzzles. My performance was not that good in the first round. So they expressed that it was their issue that they haven’t told me the profile before taking my interview and then they gave me 2 days to prepare. After 2 days I prepared very well and answered almost all of the questions. After a few days, I got the message that I have got the internship.
Both the rounds were of 30 minutes and the platform used was Microsoft Teams.
It was a mix of tech and HR round.

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round

Answer: No HR round was there.

Question 5: What were the key factors for your selection?

Answer: Firstly I had done a project in analog that was implemented on a phase lock loop and have some experience with Kayden Virtuoso that is a software used in this industry and mostly for analog and secondly my basics were clear.

Question 6: What are the things students should focus on in order of priority?

Answer: Do your syllabus pretty well as our course scheme is very beautifully designed and we have some very good subjects like analog circuits, digital electronics and we also have a course in Verilog, so focus on your syllabus. One more thing, If you are preparing for analog then you need to be very much prepared with CMOS fundamentals, basics of analog circuits, digital electronics, and most importantly RC circuits because they will ask you questions about that.

Question 7: According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?

Answer: Well, I would say that I’m very passionate about saving the environment so I was pretty much involved in societies and I have served as a technical head of Paryavaran Welfare Society for one year. I tried my best to aware the juniors about climate change in the world, the crises that we are facing, and also delivered a talk on Entrepreneurship ideas related to climate conservation. So, being in society boost your confidence level, you learn things and it also helps in enhancing your communication skills.

Question 8: Any Other Advice you would like to give to your juniors?

Answer: Do not waste your time in hostel rooms, although they are very good but still go out, just walk, make friends and as far as the studies are concerned, just focus on your lectures and study for only 1-2 hours daily and be consistent. That’s all.

Question 9: How can we contact you? (LinkedIn Profile Link/Contact No./etc.)
