Interview Difficulty Level: It was decent, not very difficult.

Here are the questions we asked Aastha Bhardwaj to know about her interview experience.

Question 1: Introduce yourself to our readers.

Answer: I’m just a normal person who thoroughly enjoyed their 3 years of college. I absolutely love talking to people which also helped me build a great network with a lot of seniors. Not a nerd but still managed to excel in academics. I love playing basketball, dancing, public speaking. Basically, I had hands-on everything that I could possibly explore.

Question 2: Describe Your written test experience specifying the number of rounds, details of each round, and type of test platform (online – amcat, hackerearth, etc / offline)

Answer: My written test was held on eLitmus. It started around 9 in the morning and went up till 5 pm with around 15 min break in between. Questions based on general aptitude, quants, problem-solving, verbal and quantitative thinking were asked. I managed to secure 79 percentile and cleared the cut-off with 30 more people.

Question 3: Describe your all technical interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round (if any) (please share coding questions if possible)

Answer: There were 2 rounds in the technical interview. In my first round, I was asked about Java mainly concepts of OOP, some queries in SQL and database(hash table). Out of all the students, 4 students cleared the 1st round. Then in the 2nd round Linux, computer networking, database, data structure, puzzles, and some coding questions were asked. Basically, a little bit of all the subjects were asked in the 2nd round. Out of the 4 students, 2 students were selected in the 2nd round.

Question 4: Describe your all HR interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round

Answer: My company didn’t really have an HR round. It was only a formality.

Question 5: What were the key factors for your selection?

Answer: I enjoyed when I had to enjoy and I studied when I had to study. I remember in my 3rd year I studied for 6-8 hours a day. I took this interview to my ego and I was willing to give it my all.
Also, I think having mentors is very important. You need someone to guide you. I had 2-3 seniors and some teachers who were there for me the whole time.

Question 6: What are the things students should focus on in order of priority?

Answer: I believe every student’s 1st priority should be getting strong in any one language. The basics of that one language should be thoroughly clear. 2nd most important thing is the project that you’ll build. It should add weight and impact to your resume. Build a good project, involving concepts from what you’ve learned and the things that interest you. At last, explore everything and don’t over-do anything.

Question 7: According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?

Answer: I think they play a very important role in shaping you. You shouldn’t be only studying because the subjects that we study are very exhausting and you need that 1-hour break to just relax your mind and do what you love be it dancing, singing, speaking, acting. You need to explore your strengths and weaknesses in order to give your best and I think being a part of such societies really helps you.

Question 8: Any Other Advice you would like to give to your juniors?

Answer: Learn to accept your strengths and weaknesses. Self-examine yourself as to how much you know. Don’t be in a bubble. You should always have a goal. Practice your concepts regularly. Always remember a good package is not everything but it is something that you should work for.

Answer: One technical round and one semi technical round. They asked me more questions about Front End or you can say React Js. They saw the code of my project. they saw the quality of the code and what is my approach while i am writing the code.

I was asked my hobbies and interests and all the technologies which I know. After that he started asking about my project. I explained the entire code to him.
During the semi technical round, I was again asked about my projects, which was my favourite project and which project I liked the most. From those projects, he asked me about SQL. He was giving me conditions/ situations and asking me about what would I do in this condition and what would I do in the similar other situations. He was asking me questions like that. He also asked me puzzles.

Answer: I have a project in React Js. Basically front-end was done by me and backend was done by someone else. It was a project in which the user can login, logout and play different games. We took APIs for different games from the Web. If the user hasn’t logged in, then different games would be served and if he/she has logged in , then different games would be served. He will get coins if he wins the game and lose some coins if he loses the game.
I had done freelancing for a startup company. I had made a mobile application for them Front end was done by me and back end was given to me.
That was my major project because it is deployed on the Play Store also. It was about the company’s business logic, login and logout options. If a company person has logged in, then different screen would be shown ,otherwise, a different screen would be shown.

Question 11:What are the technical skills that juniors should develop for going in this particular field?

Answer: All topics are equally important.
Sometimes, what happens is, the things that are taught to you for a longer period of time are more focused upon than the things which are new to you. So your responsibility as a student is to keep practicing those new topics more and more so that you have a grip on those new topics as well.
